The Mitchell Scholarship

Members of the Class of 2019 spent the day with Mark Patrick Hederman at Glenstal Abbey - no better place to be and no better man to spend a day with. Mark welcomed the Scholars with remarks he described as “a mixture of T.S.Eliot and Trina Vargo as a compass for their stay.” Trina is pretty sure that’s the only time her name will be mentioned with Eliot’s in the same breath. Six other monks joined the group for tea and scones. The group then walked the grounds, visited the icon chapel, and witnessed vespers. We are forever grateful to Chuck Feeney who first suggested what has become an annual event and one of the highlights for every Mitchell Class.
